If you are fairly new at starting with makeup, assembling your very first makeup bag can be extremely overwhelming. You never know exactly what you need to bring with you on the go, how often you need to bring the bag, and how big you need the bag to actually be to fit inside your actual handbag. Everything on the list is something that I swear by and for good reason, however these are just simple basics! Feel free to add or deduct any products that you don’t deem necessary in your everyday routine.
The base for any single makeup look whether it be natural glam or a sultry night out look, is going to be foundation. Foundation is so difficult to shop for because of the incredibly vast assortment of brands and formulations and shades. It is a lot of trial and error, but there are always new additions to the cosmetics world so although you may have one or two favorites, it is always exciting to venture out to different ones!
Like foundation, concealer is something that you will need several experimentations with- because of the formulation. However, after trying out so many, I thoroughly enjoy the Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer- it brightens, hydrates, and illuminates your face in all of the applied places and does not crease.
There is nothing more awful in a makeup look than messy eyebrows-not badly plucked or waxed ones, but brows that look like they have been not brushed or gelled down. I always recommend an eyebrow gel just to make sure they are in place no matter the weather or climate!
One of my personal newest additions to my makeup bag, is highlighter. For the longest time I have been curious about the outcome of it on my skin, but since trying it I am obsessed with the results. I don’t apply an excessive amount to my skin, just enough to give myself a slight glow on the cheekbones and nose bridge.
Simply put, chapped lips are painful/uncomfortable/and obnoxious. They make it difficult for you to open your mouth without a sharp pain so I love the fact that there are multiples balms and now a lot of them are formulated to be multi-use. They can be used as a hand cream, highlighter, and primer!
Possibly the most important tool to use when getting your makeup done, is the correct tools. I love the beauty blender because you can use it to apply your primer, foundation, concealer, powder, highlighter, and blush. All that I would recommend in regards to the beautyblender is to ensure that you are cleaning it after every use, if not every other use to have it endure its lifespan.
