Sleeping well has been proven to directly affect your mental and physical health and the quality of your everyday life. Falling short will take a serious toll on your daytime energy, productivity, emotions, and even your weight. However, many of us regularly toss and turn at night, struggling to get the required amount of sleep. Thankfully, there is a solution: making simple but vital changes to your daytime routine and bedtime habits can have a strong impact on how well you sleep, leaving you feeling mentally sharp, emotionally balanced, and full of energy all day long.

Below is the list of tips and tricks I follow regularly to sleep easier:

  • Stay on a strict schedule for sleep and waking times
  • Avoid sleeping in
  • Stray away from the foods that cause food coma
  • Read 15-20 minutes of a physical book/magazine to relax your mind
  • Avoid heavy binge eating and drinking at least 4 hours before bed
  • Reduce consumption of sugar/refined carbohydrates
  • Put on a podcast with very low volume to relax
  • Utilize a lavender or sleep aiding fragrance on your pillowcases
  • Avoid naps as much as possible(they are actually a hinderance to your daily sleeping schedule!)
  • Wash your sheets regularly(it feels amazing to sleep in a clean bed!)
